EIU Student Lisa Techman shares her summer plans
Tuesday, May 5, 2009Our school year is coming to an end. Looking back at all the good times I have had my freshman year, I realize I had one of the best times of my life. I met so many new people and learned so much about life and growing up. Coming to college, I was really scared and unsure about how I was going to do in my classes. My first semester I got all A's and B's, and this semester I am hoping I get the same grades. Everyone I have talked to, said college was hard and that I would have a hard time passing my classes, but I somehow passed with flying colors and I have classes picked out for next semester already. I am so ready for next semester because college is a blast for me. I'm going to keep the same roommate, room and building next year so nothing is really changing besides my schedule.
Over the summer, its going to be hard not seeing all my friends. They all live in different parts of the state and plus I'm not even going to be in the state. I will be working in Michigan. It's going to be a fun working at a camp with one of my best friends for the whole summer and being able to go to the beach any time I want. I'm also going to have to work though.
My sophomore year will be a turning point. I'm getting older and I will have to take on more responsibilities. When you're in college its time to grow up and start thinking about the future---real life. I know what I want and how long it will take to get there. With the right attitude I will be able to complete my college education in 4 years. Have a great summer. (I know I will.) I’ll tell you all about mine this fall.
